I’ll admit it, I’m stupid. I spent way too long trying to figure out how to jump down onto the beach in South Limgrave without dying, before realising there’s a Spirit Spring placed for that exact purpose at the end of the cliff just South-East of the Seaside Ruins Site of Grace. If you’re stupid too, and you want to stay that way, this video shows the alternate way down that I found, and also the location of the Haligdrake Talisman once you’re down on the beach.

Method 1 – Double Jump onto the Ledge On Platform

This is what I ended up figuring out before I discovered the Spirit Spring. About halfway along the cliff edge you’ll find a platform underneath you with a raised ledge. If you time your double jump right you can land on that ledge and sustain no damage.

Method 2: Use The Spirit Spring Actually Placed There For This Purpose

After jumping down using the above method I explored the beach and soon found the Spirit Spring near the Seaside Ruins Site of Grace that is clearly intended to help you achieve the thing I’d just spent too long trying to figure out the wrong way. Just follow the cliff edge along, past the Site of Grace, and you’ll eventually find this Spirit Spring.

The Seaside Ruins Spirit Spring is just over this edge.

How To Get The Gravitas Ash Of War

Once you jump down onto the beach you’ll find a tall, lanky fellow hanging out under an archway. While this guy might not look like much, he has a special move with his sword that involves imbuing it with magic and then slamming it into the ground to suck you closer to him and lose your composure. Once you’re off balance, he then impales you on his long sword and throws you around a bit.

He’s not too hard to dispatch but you do want to be careful. You might find him easier to defeat while on horseback if you’re finding the effects of his magic weapon difficult. Once you defeat him you’ll be rewarded with an Ash of War that you can put on your own sword to get the same effect he was using.

How To Get The Haligdrake Talisman

After defeating slenderman, keep walking towards the cliff face. Underneath, easily missable in the shadow of the cliff you’ll find a small opening into a tunnel.

It’s easy to miss the opening to the Haligdrake Talisman tunnel.

Head into that tunnel and you’ll find yourself high up on a ledge, looking down on one of the starting tutorial areas, with a corpse in front of you. The glowing item that you can loot off the corpse is the Haligdrake Talisman.
